I'm with you Andrey. I noticed theres alot of theses post asking this, I think maybe my last post would work alot better for something like this if you read up on it...

http://beta.eboostr.com/forum/topic/cache-exclusions

Mainly having a better way to exclude would help slow theses request down. It's mind binding slow to have to setup each and every exclude one at a time. Maybe have a more open text box (where users can type in the path or mask) or a way to select more then one file at a time.

All these frequently modified files (like logs, search data) will be squeezed out of cache with your most used data as more statistics will be gathered. Actually as I wrote before several times the whole "Exclude list" functionality is debatable (with the only exception for media files shared in p2p apps--this is the only case of negative effect and actual possible slowdowns.)

You can save application.ini and exclude.ini files located in \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\eboostr folder. This will keep your personal settings.

Hi and thanks for a great product.

I'm using Beta 4 and for me the exclude commands are not working at the moment.

Normally on the cache contents you can Exclude by path and Exclude by extension.

BUT

I thought I'd take the opportunity to make a few suggestions..

Every time I install eBoostr I spend a while making sure that certain file-types are not cached such as:
AVI, MPG, MP3, RAR, ZIP etc (these could be considered COMMON exclusions by most people I think.

Secondly I noticed that files that are frequently updated such as Search data, logs etc are very frequently invalidated and therefore unlikely to provide a succesful hit from the cache anyway. These files could automatically be added to a "frequently-changed exclusions list".

In addition to this, files that have a very low rate of hit (for whatever reason, frequently modified or other) could be automatically added to the exclude list also.

I find that using 1GB or so of memory is okay, but if it's full of files that need to be manually removed (with knowledge of their purpose) then most people are not getting the most out of their cache memory.

Still, apart from a lack of lite compression, eboostr is way way way better than readyboost (which they should have called readyboast).

eBoostr 4.0(build 529)
OS : Windows Xp Home 32bit SP3 & Vista P 64bit SP2
RAM : 4096MB (On both, xp only sees 3)

I can confirm this too. Actully, when I click to 'Exclude by mask' or 'Exclude by path' in the "Cache Viewer" it doesnt add it to the exclude list at all.
