It happens to me too, although I am running Windows 7 64-bit. The Last cache/disk hit ratio doesn't show anything until I Restart caching.
Build 543 introduced "Fail Safe Mode" which pauses caching on boot up if the system did not shut down properly the last time. This was done because on some systems using the unmanaged memory option crashed the system, and would repeatedly crash on reboot (not allowing one to deselect that option).
However "Fail Safe Mode" causes problems in other circumstances because PCs crash for other reasons. For non-technical users this is a problem because they don't know to look if the caching is paused, or might not know how to restart it.
I have asked the development team to implement a Fail Safe Mode switch to turn it on and off; ON for configuration and testing, and OFF for normal use. This can be a setting in the settings.ini file.
That would solve the problems both of you are having. I hope they fix this in a future build, it's causing me problems at times too.
Alright, I originally thought that that feature would only kick in if eBoostr caused the crash. I mess around with my system enough to cause it to crash a lot, so a toggle switch would be useful.
