Hi, Just getting started on the Beta now, a bit late and happy it is extended.
I am planning on testing it in a specific environment with a tight budget and with multiple virtual machines (multiple OSs) running in vmware workstation on a sinlge XP PC (in multiple instances) and with a 3GB RAM limit (4GB installed but only 3GB is visible in XP), so this version is particularly interesting to me. As well as pagefile useage, mopitoring, efficiency and management.
1.
I like the Autoconfiguration button in the Configure.. screen. Another suggested name for the Autoconfiguration button would be Wizard or Configuration Wizard.
I used the button and it found my hidden 1GB RAM (XP only sees 3GB of the 4GB). The wizard set up the advanced wizard cache and went on and set it up. I later noticed the the cache was moved/located (I set it up manually first) in another partition of my hard drive (the 3rd partition, which had the most free space (is I guess the reason)).
I would like the wizard to report that in the Recommended configuration window where it plans to put the cache file for me to read before it configures and perhaps I could relocate it in the same window. I like the EBOOSTR hidden directory by the way. The problem I have above is that I have to hide that 3rd partition from view most of the time (the ghost image/backup sits there).
I manually moved the cache easily enough (and fast enough it went) and noticed the EBOOSTR directory (folder) is left behind (still hidden though). This is not a problem just an observation.

I know it can be hard but in eboostr on XP it would be nice to have an 'always on top' (of other windows) option with an opaque-ness setting. The reason being that the hard drive activity monitor can be quite handy and at time of monitoring.
Articles like this (http://www.theeldergeek.com/paging_file_performance_monitoring.htm)are interesting and maybe there can be links in the gui to performance monitors like this (again thinking of XP, where performance is more likely to be monitored more).

I would like to have more in the user guide about adjustments for vmware and how we might go about setting up the cache around vmware, considering VMEM and VMDK activity. Can anything be cached before hand.
I plan to go up to VMware workstation Version 7 soon and tend to leave it to default and store VM memory in the RAM and paging file.
I have found eboostr offers great performance enhancements and also I used Mydefrag to speed up the PCs in general.
Are there any recommendations with regards to defragmentation of the eboostr cache?
Thanks,
Don
