   I use a Asus P5K with 8192 RAM on board, and XP SP3, with the hidden memory Could I expect 4786 Ram available?

   good question :) i would like to know that too.

   even tough i would use a 64bit system for that purpose Carlo. and in my experience the system slows down if so much content is hold in the memory because memory can fragment too. so if you have a almost 5GB cache in the memory its possible that windows runs slower when using performance and memory hungry apps.
