   WinXP SP4

   Eboostr builds 538 and 539

   Everything seems to run fine on the computer until I go to shut it down, then it just hangs. I manually shut the computer off and when I reboot I get PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.    Today after running fine with build 538 until I went to shut down, then the same thing happened: It hung, I manually powered off, then BSOD and the error above.

   After reading the forums, I discovered I could delete the cache file and then I was able to reinstall build 539 however I am afraid I'll have the same shutdown problem. I have a feeling it either has something to do with the fact that the drive is encrypted with McAfee Enpoint or it is XPs write-caching scheme...or both.
   So...how do I turn my computer off?

   Lately, I've been trying to suspend my system instead of shutdown and I get a bluescreen on sr.sys - the system restore process. I'll try disabling the service and see what happens.

   OK, shutdown the system restore and got a bluescreen on rdbss.sys... Methinks I have found a rabbit hole.

   This afternoon I tried shutting caching off before turning off the machine - still hung. The good news is I haven't received a BSOD in a couple of reboots and I never saw that that rdbss.sys problem again.

   Perhaps the system has stabilized. If so, I can be happy with this level of performance and quirks. I've installed on another laptop (with no encryption) with no issues so far and will be installing on a desktop this weekend.
