It was very sad and disappointing to find that my internal media card reader only reads/writes about 4.5MB/sec. After borrowing a friend's external USB card reader I find that his does 15MB/sec upwards. It definitely takes away from performance, a small margin since I use eBoostr for Sys RAM and the flash devices with ReadyBoost. However I did notice that the speeds were in fact affected. At least 4MB/s on Direct Access, and about 60MB/s Cached access. (via eBoostr Control Panel 'Check Speed'.)

I can add following comment. Well, it is fine if you have fast reader or USB stick. But if you have slow one, eBoostr still can be helpful.
eBoostr has two targets:
1. Speed up disk access (by redirecting reads to fast device)
2. Smooth system runnning (by parallel read processing under heavy load conditions)In case of a slow reader or USB stick the second benefit still takes place.

MemberIt means if the system is under heavy load, it still can read from both the HDD and the cache to make it seem like its just one big data pool, aka raid 0 (unless I'm wrong...). For example, if the HDD is busy reading then eboostr steps in and helps with some other reads by using your cache device along side your HDD.

I may be a bit slow here, but any explanation why assigning at least one flash device to ReadyBoost increases (mostly 4x) eBoostr's access times reports? i.e. is there a definite benefit using BOTH RB and eBoostr in combination?

MemberYes some. RB is more built into the system, so windows will be better able to use it by skipping a step with data control. Also, RB only caches 4k data sizes to better speed up the random access on a USB. EB on the other hand doesn't control the data sizes and left this changed able by the user for his or her needs.
When use at the same time, both take care of the upper and lower data changing sizes while the HDD take cares of the biggest data. This is like adding 3 channels or pipes for a single piece of data or 3x the speed.

Since my card reader is slow (4.5 MB/s), would it be better if I used Hard Drive space allocated as cache (10MB/s)?
