this is super lame for people who use unix like mount points in windows to minimize fragmentation.

I have my docs mapped to another partition on the same drive,
same for program files and program files (x86)

The problem was the same in eboostr 3.

So only my c: drive (which are only my windows files) are cached.

Wahhh!!!!!

Actually we do not scan the whole disk for apps. We scan only the most common shortcut locations like Desktop, Start Menu, Quick Launch and others.

Thos are perty good for a computer with only one gig. If your not looking into spending $40 or more for ram, I would totally get another USB maybe to help out too. This way you can spread the work from your 8GB sub to another (maybe 8GB) usb for even more cache access speed.

Hi,

Since my Dell 10 only has 1 gig of memory. I take the recommend option and not use any memory for caching. Just us a 8 gig usb stick and this is my performance info, and it recognizes 4 gig of the memory stick:

My access speed is: 10.421048MB/s
cache Access Speed: 25.122999MB/s
Ratio is : 2.453167

Obviously, I'm not a performance genus, but these appear to be pretty good responses. Any feed back would be appreciated

Hi, ...

Windows 7 x64 Ultimate Final, [8 Gig. ram DDR-2 DualChannel].

For the moment Eboostr, maximum limit is "4 gig memory cache".
---
But you can made a "> 4 gig disk cache", "with external media must have Ntfs".
---
I hope soon, an x64 version of eBoostr. = To made a memory cache bigger than 4 Gig.

Your right, eboostr isn't 64 bit supported yet. You can still run eboostr just fine under the 64 bit OS. Eboostr was design for lower class system (aka 32 bit), but you still get reap the benefits from the speed boost it gives you:P

I would also want to see eboostr be supported under the 64bit OS if it can.

Hello mikei :)
"Just in case you would like to specify cache file names for your OS manually (for multiboot system with same boot device for example). There is new DWORD registry value
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EBoost\Parameters]
“CacheFileIndex” - DWORD value.
For example “CacheFileIndex”= 1000"
Thank you for your informations. I just don't know yet what is meant by "1000", is "1000" the file size or a file-cachename to be chosen by myself? For example, to be named in Windows 7 as "1000" and in XP Pro named "1001" ?
Please give us an example how to use this registry entry for a multiboot of two OS, such as XP Pro and 7 Ultimate, thanks ;)

I see there is no language option in eBoostr Pro 3.0.2.508 as it has been in 3.0.1.498, using that 3.0.1.498 on my laptop XP Home SP3 because eBoostr Pro 3.0.2.508 isn't able to create a cache file there for RAM (C:) or for USB-device (B:). eBoostr Beta 4.0.0.535 and eBoostr Beta 4.0.0.536 are creating problems on my laptop as well.

eBoostr Pro 3.0.2.508 - Help - Help - Tutorials...
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EBoost\Parameters]
CacheFileName="\\eboostr2.dat"

Sorry, there is no helpfile in english. I'm using eBoostr Pro 3.0.2.508 on XP Pro SP3 and eBoostr Beta 4.0.0.536 on Window 7 Ultimate. eBoostr Beta 4.0.0.536 cannot be used on XP Pro SP3 here as it is creating blue screens and other error messages.

As i see in eBoostr Beta 4.0.0.536, there is not such a helpfile with similar or identical indications. So i think, i cannot follow those hints above and separate the eBoostr-USB-cache for XP pro-usage and 7 Ultimate-usage, right ? By the way, there are no "eboostr.dat" entries in registry yet.

Just in case you would like to specify cache file names for your OS manually (for multiboot system with same boot device for example). There is new DWORD registry value

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EBoost\Parameters]
“CacheFileIndex” - DWORD value.

For example “CacheFileIndex”= 1000
