This comment is regarding NTFS format but not regarding SD card. I'm using two USB flash thumb drives, one is FAT format 2GB and another is NTFS format 4GB. Originally, I was using them on FAT format but I formatted one of them into NFTS in the last November to test Ver 4.

I do not ever have any problem with them during the test period regardless of format, FAT or NTFS, without negative experience of speed performance by the format difference. Only problem I encountered was the case of 2GB Kingston Data Traveler - Win Sys 32 Blue Screen ( http://bit.ly/Sys32BlueScrn ) when I replaced the thumb drive with Kingston's. There was a similar problem comment by another tester.

While I have no words for SD card because I have not tested it yet, I would like to say that there is still some risk in using Flash memory drive/media due to quality depending the manufacture - which is the same story with DVD/CD media. [Bunji94 from Japan]

I read a comment by a Patriot Memory tech stating the rated speed of their memory is only good with the factory FAT format. When formatting with NTFS to make a bigger cache file the memory speed decreases significantly he flatly stated with no explanation of why.
I wonder if others have found speed performance drops when formatting NTFS?

Thunderbird failed again so I excluded SD Memory Card from eBostr's cache again. Everything returned to normal after that. I'm not understanding what's going on. As soon as I can I'll try a different card.

Problem solved but not understood. I removed Advanced Memory and NV caches. Unninstalled eBoostr, rebooted pc. Reinstalled eBoostr following all the steps. Created 3 caches, Advanced Memory, NVCache and SD Memory Card. This last one, although is a 8 GB Card, eBoostr only recognizes 4095 MB (I don't understand this). It's filling the cache right now for the second time but stopped at Advanced Memory 100%, NVCache 62%, SD Card 7%.

Yesterday I added a Lexar SDHC 8GB PRO 133X to eBoostr, tried formatting it with exFat, tried NTFS, and the results were horrible. I had to repair MSOffice and Firefox, Thunderbird almost disappeared, som other programs ended to work so today I finnished removing the SD Card from eBoostr. Tried with and without Superfetch and Prefetch but nothing solved the problem. My system is Windows Vista 32 bit, 3 GB RAM, 1023 MB unmanaged memory and 500 MB NVCache for eBoostr. ReadyBoost and ReadyBoot disabled. I wonder if there is a limit of 4 GB cache for this card to be used with eBoostr?

Okay, Firstly, Im liking this eBoostr, Its easy to use, and my Hard drive has finally stopped running for once.

I have a computer with
40GB SeaGate 4200RPM
256MB DDR RAM
1.4GHz Celeron M

And im running Windows 7 Ultimate RC 32-Bit.

Anyways, When Im in the Control Panel, the "Build Cache Now" Button, instead of having a lovely blue to white fade effect, has random blue stutters in it, All the other buttons have the nice blue fade effect working nicely.

Theres one bug

The other:

The jump list when my Control Panel is not pinned, closes the Control Panel. So when I drag up the icon, it will close the whole thing and minimize it to the taskbar tray...

Pretty annoying, but just some little bugs I found, Anyways, Have fun :)

First and only time I've had an Eboostr problem, and I honestly blame the card. I was not paying attention when I bought the card, and shared-memory cards are iffy and usually unnecessary at best (except maybe in a laptop, that I could understand).

Just an FWIW. Zero problems with any Eboostr beta except under this scenario, and I really feel the card is to blame, not Ebbostr.

-The pen should be introduced before boot? (I would prefer to make it after because of electric problems and virus...)
-Also: I really want to eject pen before shutdown (same reasons than above). Right button in drive is not as practical as the right buttons for "Add", "Remove" device/cache - this ones much less used than the other...

Suggestion: Add the button "Eject device" --> Choose device to disconnect.

The upgrade from current release version 3.0 of Ebooster to the beta was successfull on my computer.
Also the settings are still configured (application list, folders to exclude).
I have not checked my 4GB USB-stick before, but the current Ebooster cache-file uses the whole amount of available space on the drive.
But adding system memory to Ebooster what is possible, even if no "hidden system memory" is found, the systray icon of Ebooster starts "waving" from about 10:00 o'clock to 2:00 o'clock and back all the time. That problem was also present using system memory with Ebooster 3.0

I am also not able to start any application after adding system memory and the creation of the cache file has finished (I have 2GB DDR-Ram and configured Ebooster to use the suggested amount of 512MB, file location c:\). Trying to open a shortcut to run a program like Firefox or Outlook Express I get an error saying that the entry point was not found in <filename of a DLL). I did not write down the message because I thought it is listed in the Windows Event Viewer, but I cannot find any entry regarding this errors.

I am using an AthlonXP3200 on a PCChips M848ALU (V2.1) board (SiS748/963L-chipset) with WindowsXP-prof-SP3 and 2 GB DDR-Ram/400MHz.

But its great that Ebooster is still improving, especially using the whole amount of my 4GB USB-stick.

To chooky

First of all try to uninstall current version and verify that system has no files from eBoostr.
Look to
Program File\eBoostr
ProgramData\eBoostr
locations. If any files are there, delete them.

Do reboot!

Install beta 4

Do reboot!

Try operate with eBoostr.
If problem still exists, check in about dialog licence type.

Thanks Mikei. I have my V3 Laptop license on my netbook running Windows 7 Pro.

On my Thinkpad T500 with Vista I did not have any license installed. During the beta, wouldn't you want us to test all the functionality on all platforms?

If I went and bought a V3 Pro version and installed it on my Thinkpad, are you saying it would allow me to use the Hidden Memory feature using the V4 Beta?

I personally would prefer not to pay for the Pro version util I'm sure that feature ("use hidden memory") works on my system.

Actually, I you have valid licence from previous eBoostr version. And this licence does not allow memory cache (not Pro version). Then the behavior will be exactly as you described. Licence check is not added to new Control panel UI. While driver and service do full check.

I've installed beta 4. The promises are cool, but it's not working.
I can add Advanced Memory cache, I can enable see hidden memory, I can set hdd unit for cache and I can build the cache for it. But the advanced memory cache stays DEACTIVATED (with a red cross within its icon!). Considering that I am fully licence (but desktop edition the one without memory cache option!) is that the problem? I am missing something else? Can I upgrade my license (valid now till 2012 jan 1!) to add advanced memory cache option? Please! I am using 32 bit and I would really appreciate that option working. Licensed since the beginning of this program, don't leave me in the dark!

Cache build only lasted a second for memory and on completion there were no files in cache content.
Speed test showed no difference in speed.
Control panel showed no hit ratios.
Uninstalled, Reinstalled

2nd Install
control panel reports eboostr service is not running.
