App priority settings ignored – V3.0 b484 – again
By EvilROo | January 10th, 2009 | 5:09 am
Hello,
I am going to report the same problem as in
http://www.eboostr.com/closedbeta/feedback/app-priority-settings-ignored-v30-b483 Upgrade to v484 doesnt help at all. Still the same thing. eBoostr does not cache anything on my D:\ partition. When I transfer my priority application to C:\ it is cached - normal behaviour. I keep my favourite apps on D drive for a security and recovery purpose. Previous versions of eBoostr does not mind this scheme - worked properly. It is 3 days since I upgraded to v484. I starting to be desperate. Some caps (hope they will be availible):My Exlude list settings: E:\ F:\ R:\ Q:\ S:\ T:\ U:\ V:\ W:\ *.mp3 *.avi *.mpg *.flv My app priority settings: 1000 C:\DOWNLOAD\OLD\ADVANCED UNINSTALLER 9\UNINSTALLER.EXE 1000 D:\PERMANENT\ACTIVE KEYS\AKEYS.EXE 1000 D:\PERMANENT\MOZILLA FIREFOX\FIREFOX.EXE 1000 D:\PERMANENT\MOZILLA THUNDERBIRD\THUNDERBIRD.EXE 1000 C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE 1000 D:\PERMANENT\MOZILLA FIREFOX\ORBITDOWNLOADER\ORBITDM.EXE 1000 D:\PERMANENT\TOTAL COMMANDER\TCPOWERPACK.EXE 1000 C:\PROGRAM\ASTON\ASTON.EXE 1000 C:\PROGRAM\COREL GRAPHICS 12\PROGRAMS\CORELDRW.EXE 1000 C:\PROGRAM\COREL GRAPHICS 12\PROGRAMS\CORELPP.EXE 1000 D:\PERMANENT\CRYSTAL PLAYER\CRYSTAL.EXE 1000 C:\PROGRAM\OO DEFRAG\OODCNT.EXE 1000 D:\PERMANENT\MYPHONEEXPLORER\MYPHONEEXPLORER.EXE 1000 C:\PROGRAM\NOTEBOOK HARDWARE CONTROL\NHC.EXE 1000 C:\PROGRAM\RAMDISK\SSCRDCPA.EXE 1000 D:\PERMANENT\WINRAR\WINRAR.EXE 1000 C:\PROGRAM\ADOBE\READER 9.0\READER\ACRORD32.EXE 1000 C:\PROGRAM\COMODO\COMODO INTERNET SECURITY\CMDAGENT.EXE 1000 C:\PROGRAM\COMODO\COMODO INTERNET SECURITY\CFP.EXE 1000 C:\PROGRAM\CURSORXP\CURSORXP.EXE 1000 C:\PROGRAM\OPENOFFICE.ORG 3\PROGRAM\SCALC.EXE 1000 C:\PROGRAM\OPENOFFICE.ORG 3\PROGRAM\SIMPRESS.EXE 1000 C:\PROGRAM\OPENOFFICE.ORG 3\PROGRAM\SOFFICE.EXE 1000 C:\PROGRAM\OPENOFFICE.ORG 3\PROGRAM\SWRITER.EXE 1000 D:\PERMANENT\MIRANDA\MIRANDA32.EXE 1000 D:\PERMANENT\ICEECC\ICE ECC.EXE 1000 D:\PERMANENT\WINAMP\WINAMP.EXE

Thanks for your report.
We found some problem with applications activity logging.
We will fix it as soon as possible.

EvilROo, we have found a problem with loging.
That is not actual problem but seems it is a product limitation which will exists in release version.
We was forced to exclude compressed files from caching, because reading of such files in some cases leads to computer crash.
If it is not your case, please write me back.
PS We will try to introduce registry switch for supporting compressed files. But we unable to implement full support before release.

Well I tried to uncheck the Compression of my F:\ partition and voilá: eBoostr cached it without a problem.
This is it, I guess.
It is a little problem to me, because I like NTFS compression, it saves about 5 GB of space. Maybe I could uncompress only those files I want to cache. I will try it and write the result.

I forgot to say, that my D:\ and E:\ are both compressed. C:\ is uncompressed. Now I cancelled compression of F:\ and it worked.
