Speed of light

By zPedro | December 19th, 2008 | 3:31 pm

My eBoostred Asus M50SV is still running at the speed of light! Meanwhile, I have a question I would like to be answered, if anybody could be so kind: shall we put in the eBoostr Exclude List the Vista ReadyBoost flashdrive? The speed is more or less the same as it is without excluding ReadyBoost SD memory card (Direct access speed: 17.183798 MB/s; Cache enabled access speed: 325.051636 MB/s; Ratio: 18.916170!!!!) It’s just a technical issue.

Thanks and once again congratulations for this wonderful software!

    Hi, …

    For your question

= Try to disable Vista ReadyBoost.

= On my Laptop, [Vista Ultimate x64, 2 gig ram], i have try to disable the Vista ReadyBoost service and function.

I have not see an option in eboostr, to temporary [disable Vista ReadyBoost].

(Vista ReadyBoost and eboostr) = “working at the same-time, [probably slow Vista]”.

Actually you can use eBoostr and ReadyBoost at the same time, but it is highly not recommended to use them on the same flash drive. However there is no sense in using ReadyBoost, cause eBoostr is faster and give you more benefits.

Thank you, Andrey! I was using eBoostr System Memory and a removable ReadyBoost device.
Now I disabled readyboost and tried eBoostr, first with only System Memory (768 MB) and second both Memory System and a 4 GB SD card (3769 MB). The results are as follows:

    System memory only:
    Direct access speed: 9.934539 MB/s
Cache enabled access speed: 31.769156 MB/s
    Ratio: 3.197849

    System memory + removable:
    Direct access speed: 10.438483 MB/s
Cache enabled access speed: 16.194878 MB/s
    Ratio: 1.551459

What do you think of these numbers? My laptop has 3 GB RAM.
P.S.: Here (at Portugal) is getting late. I’ll stop these activities by now. Best regards.
