11% cache fill

By zPedro | January 24th, 2009 | 12:02 pm

With build 487 system memory (512 MB) cache fill almost always was at 100%. After upgrading to 490 it remains at 11%. I didn’t rebuild the cache because I want to see if eBoostr makes it by itself. Otherwise I will make it or reduce system memory to 256 MB. I have 3 GB being used by Vista 32. I’m having troubles with MS Word but I think eBoostr has nothing to do with it. The only way to prove this is installing previous version.

I have some problems (build 490) with cache filled as well. Even on a fresh Windows XP Pro SP3 installation, the cache fill was stuck at 2%. After rebuilding the cache, it went up to 23% but the percentage does not improve no matter how many programs I launch.

I’ve reinstalled build 487 and now cache is 100% filled! Something is wrong with last 490 version.

@fehmi : I have xp pro too, and cache has never gone above ca 2Gb (that bing 97% of 2G cache, or 49% of 4Gb cache), I assume that there simply isn’t much worth caching anymore… not necessarily a bug IMHO

The cache fill rose up to 100% now… I guess we need to give the new build some time to build the cache to the upper limit.

I added a 8 GB pendrive that is now 84% filled. Ram system is still 100%. All with build 487 and no problems. While I was writing this, pendrive cache filled up to 91%.

Removable and memory were both 100% filled with build 487. I’ve reinstalled last build 490 and caches are still at 100%.
