Cache building occurs repeatedly

By Siu Chan | December 2nd, 2008 | 4:25 am

I have installed build 471 for a few days and it works well.  However, I noticed that it became inactive several times a day because it started cache building spontaneously all by itself.

OS Vista SP132-bit, RAM 4 GB, USB flash drive 4GB x 2

i believe that this is normal behaviour. from what i noticed the cache rebuilding occurs when there is little activity on the pc. when this happens the caching is not active. it would be nice not to disable the caching when updating it. i bet it’s possible but i do not know how feasable and complicated this would be.

I would suggest that eBoostr build the cache while the file(s) are accessed.

    spot on my friend!
i believe that this behaviour is happening in vista (don’t know. windoze xp here :))
there is another problem related to this behaviour. if the pc is involved in constant disk activity (like torrents) then the cache rebuild never kicks in. (i may be wrong) please correct me if it’s false.
