Files in cache that don’t exist…

By fastest963 | December 27th, 2008 | 11:59 am

I checked the cache viewer and I noticed that some files are cached, but no longer actually exist.  How often does eboostr check its cache against the actual filesystem?

The files I noticed were mostly old files from My Documents and Desktop.

Thanks,

James Hartig

Have you tried manually rebuilding the cache? Are the files still there in the cache after?

Well I assume that if i rebuild, they would be removed, but I’m wondering why eBoostr doesn’t automatically remove them?

Good point, or if it does remove them already, at what interval does it perform this task? Hmm….

eBoostr updates the cache contents once in an hour during idle time. However please note that it may leave your deleted files in the cache until it will get a new data that needs to be cached.

    Hi Andrey,

Thanks for clarifying this, I would assume this has no effect on performance right?

    Thanks again.
