NTFS or FAT ?

Have you guys tried both file systems with eBoostr ? I’ve formatted my usb-stick both ways and couldn’t notice any differences in speed… What would be “wiser” to do and is there any difference at all in those 2 file systems eBoostr-wise :)

    You need NTFS if you want a bigger Cache File then 4 GB

    And why would you need such a big cache file? I think Andrew recommended max 1GB cache file or am I wrong?

    I’m using a 4gb pendrive with fat32 format and all works fine :)

    medeni73, we’ve made many tests with different flash memory manufacturers. There were no difference in speed for FAT32 or NTFS.

    However allocating the cache file on NTFS happens instantly and you can use the cache file sized more than 4GB (in the 2.0 version). The downside of using NTFS (we saw this on several poor performing flash drives) is getting Windows “write delayed failed” error.

    Conclusion:
    FAT32 – for flash drives less or equal to 4GB;
    NTFS – if you want the cache file sized more than 4GB (make sure that the drive has a good write speed, otherwise disable the “write-cache” option for this drive).
