By pmal | November 26th, 2008 | 12:01 am
I use eboostr in the unmanaged Windows memory on xp with ram cache working very fine, the disk is 700 mb and blazing spped.
Not any problems for the moment

would be nice if eboostr can use unmanaged ram of 32bit xp versions directly, without the workaround with a ramdisk
Nov 26, 2008
yes of course this will be very nice because those 700 meg are lost otherwise, it must not be very difficult to implemented the possibility

eboostr does not use RAM disk. It uses memory directly. RAM device you see in control panel is just visualisation of RAM cache feature.

Could you please tell me how to use Ramdisk as the cache device?
Because I managed to use a Ramdisk as an eBoostr device but always get the message: “Driver not loaded”.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks you, Andrew and pmal!
I’m running XP on my notebook and using eBoostr 3.0 build 471. The Ram cache function work perfectly. However, i want to try to create a Ramdisk and use it as one cache device for eBoostr. At first, the program gives me the message “Driver not loaded”.
I’ve just reinstalled the program (follow what is said in the link that Andrew gived) and now the Ramdisk isn’t even exist in the eBoostr device list!
Hmm! Strange!

It is normal now create the ramdisk with the option to backup data on the c so it will comz back on next reboot.
It’s possible you will need ramcache plus
