BSOD on flash drive removal.

When I removed my flash drive (“ejected” it) my machine said delayed-write failed, and then blue-screened.

What happens when flash drive with eboostr.dat is moved from one computer to another?

By leblancj | |

Hi,

Given that flash drives are the typical hosts for caches, what happens when a host flash drive is moved from one computer to another, where both are using eboostr and both expect to find eboostr.dat on the flash drive?

Will this cause a crash or does eboostr recognize that a *.dat file doesn’t match a particular computer?

Would you have to recreate the cache to use the flash drive on a different computer (e.g., going from home to work to home again on the same day)?

Update license dialogue box

By leblancj | |

It took me a few logons and appearances of this box to figure out that it came from eBoostr. There is no indication in the dialogue box that it belongs to eBooster. Since one can have many apps starting automatically, there needs to be something that indicates the source.

Would like a option to what drive the ramcache is saved on exit/shutdown

By Stevvie | |

I would like to see an option to say where the ram cache is saved/loaded on shutdown/startup. I see that it’s saved on the root of C: at the moment I would like the option to save it on another hard drive that isn’t used as cache.

Encyrpted device can not be removed after closing

By many35 | |

Hello,

I think i found a bug. I use truecrypt on my laptop. When I open up an encrypted drive as a removable device, it appears in eboostr as an extra cache device (although no .dat file has been built). It automatically appears, even though I do not add it as a device. When I close the encrypted drive, this cache device remains in the Eboostr control panel. I can not remove or eject it. It stays there until I re-boot.

Update your license?

Just got a message from eboostr asking for me to buy or update my license which expires in 30 days…doesn’t make much sense to me since this is a beta?

Meaning of “Power Saving State” and “Systemstate”

By sgernegross | |

Hello,

in the current version 3 and eboostr 2.0.2 it isn’t clear for the user what is the meaning of the “Power Saving State” option from the menu. This option isn’t explained anywhere in the help.

As a user u can think that is a special mode for ebooster to consume lesser ressources or it is the current Energy Saving State of windows.

As I noticed the “Power Saving State” is showed as “System State” in the Control Panel of ebooster.I find this a little bit confusing to describe the same thing with too differnt names.

My suggesting is to rename the “System State” to “Energy Saving State” and to display “active”, “non active”.

Meaning of “Power Saving State”/ “System State”

Hello,

the option “Power Save Mode” isn’t explained anywhere in help of the previous version 2.0.2 of eboostr.

As a User u can think it is a special operation of eboostr to cosume lesser ressources?

Either it isn’t obvious what the “System State” means. Does it equal to the Powersave State?

Error when Device is removed

I am using a memory stick. When i remove the device the application doesn’t notice the removal. If I  try to mesure drive speed then I got the following unhandled Exception.

Then the device shows with an error.
