CachemanXP

By Mainframer | December 1st, 2008 |

I just had the CachemanXP service stop on an error, as well as IE7 terminate on a C++ library runtime error, after Windows expanded the swap file. I’ve never seen either of these errors before.

I’m running Build 471.

What’s the relationship, if any, between Cacheman and eBoostr? I’m not using the RAM feature of eBoostr.

Thanks.

yup this works perfectly at the moment for me…. i haven’t seen any bugs for now and it’s faster than the previous version… i’ve been using it on my laptop Intel Celeron 2.00 Ghz 384 RAM, Win XP SP3, 1 gig Kingston Data Traveler flash drive

Memory Card Capacity Error

By Tim | |

I uninstalled the previous build and downloaded/installed the build that was posted on Nov. 25th.  I’m still seeing an issue with the capacity displayed for my 8GB memory card (This is on an Acer Aspire 1).  Attached is a screen shot of the error as well as the capacity that is displayed during the installation.  The slider shows the correct memory size, but the box that you enter you key in is 4096.  Typing that in leaves the slider maxed out at 7771.  Draging the slider changes the value down from 4096.

V3.0 build 471 affects battery life

By maximiser | |

I have installed V3.0 471 on my laptop IBM X61s with WinXP using a 4GB SD card. I have noticed that when my laptop is idle Eboostr begins to build up its cache. The problem is that this cause a large amount of disk activity and occurs whether power save mode is on or off. The result is that when the laptop is running on batteries the battery life is drastically reduced due to the disk activity.

eBoostr 3.0.Beta Built 471 performance

By rreng | |

I just installed eBoostr 3.0.Beta Built 471.
I would say definitely: it fills immediately after very first moments of usage that this version is much better then previous

System:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2.
Computer:
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.01 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM.
Thumb drive: SanOiskSDDR-113USB Device + using Kensington Memory Card 6 Gb
Cash built size: 4096 Mb.

First visual comparing with version 2.0.2: works really much faster:
Builds cash really faster: ~ 1-2 minutes instead of 5-8 minutes for 4096 Mb @ the same memory card;
Random read speed: ~410000 KB/s instead of ~96000 KB/s with the same memory card;
Check speed: works for SECONDS instead of MINUTES !
Option of “Application Priority” is really great idea;

I had another issues using prior version of that product like random “Pause” and impossibility to return to “Active” unless you reboot, but having to format memory card again and rebuild Cash.

I will pay attention on that problem for current release.

Regards,
Norman.

No Install or setup problems on HP Laptop

Installed

eBoostr 3 (BETA) Version

  • Version: 3.0 build 471

HP Laptop
P4 3.6
gig ram

Running 4 2gig lexar for a total 8 gig multi drive cache
Ran great on version 2.0
pending full speed increase test.
Cache set up much faster than 2.0.
Boot, Shutdown and most apps run 50% faster.
Have ran build cache three times, only goes up to about 30% full of the 2 gig in each drive.

unexpected behaviour in eboostr statistics

By Cosmin | November 29th, 2008 |

i give the command to rebuild cache, open the eboostr statistics, the list of apps apears as it should , the cached column is “???”, i double click on a few apps to see the list of files, nothing appears, i close the windows, the rebuild ends, several windows start popping up with the lists of files for the apps i double clicked earlier.

eBoostr works well with ImDisk

By Zero3K | |

I’ve made a RAM Disk (using 512 MBs) using it and then added the RAM Disk as a device for a cache to be made on.  When I look at the random read speed of it, its at 1.53-1.54 GB/s. You can find ImDisk at http://www.ltr-data.se/opencode.html#ImDisk.

Tested on Vista x64 SP2 (Beta), the 3.0 Build 471 x86.

Hi, …

I test [eBoostr 3 (BETA) Version: 3.0 build 471], on Vista Ultimate x64, SP2 Beta, French Canada. 2 gig ram. 8 gig usb thumb drive, ntfs = (7772 MB Dedicated to eBoostr Cache).

It work, but my thumb drive, dont cache more than 11%, = i dont know why.

Do you plan to made an x64 version, of eBoostr ?
