484- Cache fill 12%?

By V | January 13th, 2009 | 2:51 pm

Running eBoostr build 484 on a C2D 2.2GHz laptop w/ 4GB RAM and a 16GB USB flash drive (using the entire drive). eBoostr  showed a cache fill of 18%. I rebuilt the cache files and it now shows 12% cache fill. Is this a bug? How do I get the program to build the cache file closer to 100% to make full use of the space on the flash device?

Is the flash drive’s filesystem NTFS?

If cache file have empty space eboostr should put there all read files. Try to open some file in viewer. After cache rebuild it should be in the cache. (You can view cache content by choosing menu edit/show cache content)
Decreasing percent is a normal in case of some cached files was modified/deleted

No it is not a bug. I’ve contacted support a few months ago on a similar problem, and they said it was fine. Eboostr works like this, and increases the cache size automatically if you do resource-intensive things on your system. If I recall correctly, it works by collecting information about how much resources you’re system is using so far (since new install, I believe), and fills the cache accordingly.
