“No REALLY i do like eboostr!”

By sirmerlin860 | January 26th, 2009 | 5:08 pm

i got some BSOD’s for yeah

MB:ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus
CPU:Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz
SND:Soundmax Integrated Digital HD Audio
VID:Nvidia Geforce XFX 280 GTX XXX Edition
WIN:Vista Home Premium x64 SP2 beta 6002
HD:Seagate 250GB x2 raid (stripe)
RAM:8GB DDR2 800mhz SLI Ready (4X2GB)
65GB Eboostr 3.0.0.490: Ultra Speed 8GB, Centrios 8GB-200X,
Retail Plus 32GB(16GB), 1000GB HD(16GB), 80GB HD(16GB), ram 1GB

cache ordering:
1st RAM: 1GB

4th E:8MB USB
2nd F:16GB/1000GB HD

         G:16GB/32GB USB
         K:8GB USB
3rd L:16GB/80GB HD

eboostr reports service is not responding

it seems to get confused about the end of the 4th drive and
keeps writing past the end of the drive
drive G: and K: are filled almost instantly and the program
stops
eboostrcp is still in ram but ebstrsvc.exe isn’t

most likely missed error handling ie: data too large for device
possible solution: write the entire cache to HD then copy first
half of cache to 8GB #1 and second half to 8GB #2
——————————————————–
after reboot drives F:, G: AND L: showed in eboostr
F:16384MB, 100%, SPEED n/a
G:16384MB, 100%, 23362 KB/s
L:16384MB, 100%, 1585796 KB/s

i tried to do a speed test on F: which ended in a BSOD:
stop:0x000000F4
(0x0000000000000003,0xFFFFFA800A9D3040,0xFFFFFA800A9D3278,0xFFF
FF800024FDA50)

just before the BSOD all drives i started with showed on the
list

after restart drives F:, L: and G: show in eboostr

when i select add drives K: and E: (the two 8GB drives) show in
the list with no space available

when i remove one of the drives, goto add then select the drive
just removed; one of the 8GB drives appear with 100% cache fill
and speed

i also noticed $avg8.vault$ and $recycle.bin$ were added to the
cache
this could cause conflicts with AVG couldn’t it?
there should be a warning in eboostr NOT to cache your viruses!
the timestamp for avgmail.cfg is absent

another thing comes to mind; when saving a file ie: readme.txt
it should be updated in the cache as well in real time
 “on close append/etc”
the same goes for deleted files
 “on delete modify cache index”

i uninstalled my nvidia driver to install the newest certified
one and it asked me to restart.
i got this BSOD:
STOP:0X000000D4
(0XFFFFFA6004AD5E50,0X000000000000000F,0XFFFFF80002342A8B)
nvlddmkm.sys shutdown before finishing tasks

i tried reinstalling from safe mode but to no avail
i tried removing all nvidia software to no avail
i removed eboostr without erasing data to no avail
i removed eboostr and data to a glorious success

eboostr said it was going to remove the data but the usb drives
now report capacity of 0KB so i had to format them again.

i have reinstalled 3.0.0.490 but the same BSOD appears on reboot
so i went to the last version i had 3.0.0.486 and the same BSOD

i manually removed the dat files from my hard drives and now 3.0.0.490 works again no problem

on uninstall remove all dat files
on install check for but don’t activate dat files until confirmation is issued

these two steps should clear up alot of issues

hope this helps
