Release candidate version 2.0

By Andrey Zarudnev | March 28th, 2008 | 12:14 pm

New build 415 is now available for download. This is the latest beta build and it is considered our Release Candidate.

Our developers were really not impressed by the results of the RAM cache boost in the previous build. So the RAM cache mechanism was totally rewritten in the current version. Its initial build, updates and load on boot are now much faster and smoother. In addition the application speed measure tool was also significantly changed to get more accurate results.

Here is the list of the updates at a glance:

  • RAM caching mechanism improved;
  • Application speed measure tool improved;
  • Bug with a fragmented cache file fixed;
  • Two new languages were added: Belarusian and Japanese (that is 15 new languages for the version 2);

Unfortunately still no Vista 64 bit support, sorry.

If there will be no critical errors found then the new version 2.0 will be released officially on April 10th.

    Uninstalled 2.0.410 rebooted installed 2.0.415 and then added 512 of my 2gig RAM, 1536 of my 2gig Voyager flash drive, 2048 of my 160gig D: drive. As soon as it finished building the cache I got a bluescreen with this error number 0x000000f4 (0x00000003 0x88759020 0x88759194 0x80604528). I’ve rebooted and it’s been fine for about 10-20 minutes

    Stevvie, please check the new build 416. It seems that we’ve found and fixed the reason of this problem.

    BTW there is no need to uninstall your previous version–upgrade procedure should run fine.
