Significant slow down.

By getis2213 | October 13th, 2007 | 10:38 am

After buying a new usb flash drive (1gb), BETA2 worked well for me.  BETA3 however, slowed down my computer tremendously.  after repeated attempts to test and rebuild the cache, i just gave up.  I’m going to try again in a few days, since i have much work to do and can’t sacrifice that much speed.

    If you can not rebuild the cache then probably you have either the driver or the service left from the previous version (BETA 2). Both of them were changed in BETA 3 and are now not compatible with the ones from the BETA 2. It was important to reboot immediately after the installation of the third version, cause until the reboot an old version of the driver is working in the system.

    To repair your installation, please try the following:
    1. Remove all cache files from all devices;
    2. Uninstall eBoostr completely;
    3. Reboot your computer;
    4. Install the latest version and reboot it immediately after the installation.

    This will make sure that you have no files left from the previous version.

    BTW the slow down you’ve noticed is not caused by the eBoostr itself–that’s just the speed of your system that you had before installing eBoostr.

    no, the slow down is absolutely from eboostr. i had it in one min, then took it out and exited eboostr and speed greatly increased. I did reboot direfctly after uninstalling beta2 and after installing beta3.

    Hm… OK, so do you have eBoostr uninstalled now?
