Build 479 fix build cache bug in 473

WinXP Pro SP3, 1GB RAM with 2GB HD cache and 256 MB Flash cache

Retesting the same system which has problem building the cache in build 473, now everything works fine, build process went smoothly with multiple HD and Flash disk cache. Nice work guys :).

Some very minor cosmetic issue: after increasing the priority of an app in Cache Statistics and re-sorting the Weight column, the newly increased app isn’t sorted properly. Closing and reopening Cache Statistics solve the problem.

One suggestion, it would be nice to have a menu or button for Cache Statistics in the main eBooster Control Panel so we can launch it directly from there instead of fumbling through the Start menu

I downloaded the last version and I find that building cache takes a long time. Is it normal?

Why is that the random speed of the system memory never shows?

In my Windows XP Professional SP3

1.83 GHz, 3.00 GB RAM

Alocating the cache file is now slower them before.

Acer Aspire One/Vista and build 473…

With build 473 and Vista Ultimate 32bit, I could not have RAM and SDHC caching both running at the same time, meaning, if I attempted to add the SDHC card to build a cache on it, the eboostr service would simply stop altogether. Just the RAM caching however seems to work well and gets me better performance than with only Superfetch. Now I am using 473 and I have Superfetch disabled, and 512MB allocated to eboostr. I am off to download build 479 to see if the issue is resolved there. We shall see.

Fantastic! Running problem free on my Acer Aspire One with XP Home SP3, and big improvements even with a cheap generic brand 2GB memory stick – now off to buy an SD card and a faster memory stick!

Speed of light

My eBoostred Asus M50SV is still running at the speed of light! Meanwhile, I have a question I would like to be answered, if anybody could be so kind: shall we put in the eBoostr Exclude List the Vista ReadyBoost flashdrive? The speed is more or less the same as it is without excluding ReadyBoost SD memory card (Direct access speed: 17.183798 MB/s; Cache enabled access speed: 325.051636 MB/s; Ratio: 18.916170!!!!) It’s just a technical issue.

Build 479

Finally the new Beta build is available. This one may be named a “Release Candidate” because it is the last one that features new functionality. We are coming really close to holiday season and seem that our initial plans to release an official version 3 this year failed.

Running on eeePC 1000H with 1GB cache ram + 2GB SD Card. Runs without problems for over a month now. Programs start faster especially 2nd time, however would like to see improvement in the first start of programs. Great software keep up the good work.

Anyone had the same experience?

My pc configuration:

Laptop, Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 2GHz, 4 MB L2 cache, 4GB RAM, 64 bit OS, 5400 rpm hard drive, and I use a 133x speed SD card as the cache drive

I used 1024 MB system RAM plus 3072 MB of the SD card as cache drive

So far it’s worked very well with my laptop. I’ve tried different combination of cache drive and they all worked well. I guess the only comment I have so far (or more so a question I guess) is that when I’m using just ram as cache drive, the cache enabled read speed is so much faster than when I’m using both ram and SD card as cache drive, which I think it kind of make sense coz the access speed of RAM is much faster than SD card. My question is that: if I do use both at the same time, would it actually slow down the performance or would it not matter? Or should I used only RAM for best performance?
